New Patients

Dr. Miller is Double Board-Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and sees patients only 18 y.o. and older.

Welcome to our Medical Clinic, where we provide Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for Everyone who needs help. We are a medical facility and not a political organization. We indiscriminately offer medical services to every individual regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, spoken language, national origin, political views, disability, etc. Our providers and staff speak several languages, which allows expanding our service to those individuals who have limited access to mental health and substance abuse services due to the language barrier. Every individual will be treated with compassion, dignity, and respect!

If you are a new patient and would like to schedule an appointment, you may call the office or fill out the Initial Contact Form and submit to us electronically. Once we receive your electronic request, our staff will contact you to coordinate the date and time of your appointment. The electronic submission of the information is preferred due to the high volume of incoming calls, which sometimes could be associated with the extended waiting time.

We do not accept any Health Insurance Plans for our Psychiatric Services!

All our services are considered out-of-network or self-pay.

We work for Our Patients, not third parties, by providing personalized care for every individual. We are using a comprehensive general approach to every problem and spending as much time as we need during the initial evaluation or follow-up appointments. Our treatment is based on an etiological approach and not just a symptomatic treatment. We are trying to identify and treat the cause of the psychiatric problem and not only a chief complaint. Having knowledge in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, Dr. Miller implements a detailed psychosomatic approach to every treatment plan. We believe that doctors should have the ultimate authority to decide when and for how long to see a patient, what treatment to implement, and which medications to prescribe. We are flexible with our appointments availability. We are transparent with our office policies and our prices, and you will never receive a bill from us with hidden charges.

Dr. Venera Miller is considered a Non-Participating Provider with All Insurance Companies.

Patients should contact their insurance companies to determine their out-of-network benefits. The percentage of reimbursement for a superbill can vary depending on the specific insurance plan but typically falls between 50% and 80% of the cost of out-of-network services. We will provide all necessary documentation and guidance to the patients so they can submit for reimbursement on their own, and we will help facilitate this process.

Key Benefits for patients attending self-pay private psychiatric practice:

Personalized and Extended Care

  • Patients often receive more personalized and extended care sessions, as psychiatrists are not limited by insurance company restrictions on session length and frequency. This allows for a more focused and individualized treatment approach.

Reduced Administrative Burden

  • Patients do not have to deal with the administrative tasks associated with insurance claims, such as pre-authorizations, claim denials, and paperwork typically required by insurance companies. This streamlines the care process and reduces stress for both the patient and the psychiatrist.

Facilitate the Process of Submitting claims for reimbursement.

  •  The self-pay practice will typically provide detailed invoices that include essential information such as the provider’s name and address, tax ID number, diagnosis codes (ICD-10), procedure codes (CPT), and the date and place of service. The practice can guide patients on how to submit claims online or by mail, including where to find the necessary forms on the insurance company’s website and how to attach the required documentation.

Increased Accessibility and Flexibility

  • Self-pay practices can offer more flexible scheduling and quicker access to care, as they are not bound by the wait times and referral processes associated with insurance.

Specialized and Integrative Care

  • Patients can access specialized care that may not be covered by insurance, such as integrative psychiatric care combining Western and alternative approaches. This holistic approach can be more tailored to the patient's unique needs and circumstances.

Higher Quality of Care

  • Psychiatrists can focus more on patient care and less on administrative tasks, leading to a higher quality of care and more effective treatment outcomes. This includes more time dedicated to each patient and a stronger therapist-patient relationship.

Motivated Patients

  • Self-pay clients are often highly motivated individuals who are more likely to take an active role in their health and follow treatment instructions, leading to better adherence and potentially faster recovery.

Autonomy in Treatment Choices

  • Psychiatrists have the freedom to choose the most effective treatment modalities for each patient without being constrained by insurance company guidelines. This allows for more innovative and personalized treatment plans.

Reduced Risk of Claim Denials

  • Patients do not face the risk of claim denials or delayed payments, ensuring a smoother and less stressful treatment process.

Better Patient Experience

  • Longer and more meaningful sessions with the psychiatrist, leading to a better patient experience and more satisfactory outcomes. Patients are also more likely to feel invested in their care due to the financial commitment.

New Patient Policy Statement

All services provided in Dr. Miller's office (CIPM LLC) are designated as self-pay. Self-pay patients or patients with out-of-network benefits are required to pay the full fee prior to each service provided.

In-Person Initial Psychiatric Evaluation:

  • We request cash payments for in-person Initial Psychiatric Evaluations to prevent the possibility of controlled substance diversion or doctor shopping. Doctor shopping refers to visiting multiple physicians to obtain multiple prescriptions for illegal drugs or to receive a desired medical opinion.

  • If you prefer to use a credit card, a 3.5% processing fee will be applied in addition to the full cost of the evaluation.

  • Please note that no other payment methods will be accepted for a 60- to 90-minute Initial Evaluation.

Remote Telemedicine Initial Evaluations:

  • For remote Telemedicine Initial Evaluations, we accept credit card payments before the service is provided.

To schedule your initial evaluation appointment, we require a $50 deposit via credit card.

This deposit secures your 60-90 minute evaluation spot and will be applied toward the initial evaluation fees during your visit.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Initial evaluation appointments must be canceled during regular office hours at least 48 hours in advance to avoid charges for missed or late cancelled appointments.

  • If you cancel within this timeframe, your $50 deposit will be refunded to your credit card.

  • If you do not show up for your appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, the $50 deposit will be non-refundable.

  • Two missed initial evaluation appointments will result in no further initial appointments being scheduled.

After-Hours Cancellations:

  • If the office is closed and you need to cancel your appointment, you may leave a message on our answering machine at 410-535-6520 or email us at dr.veneramiller@cipmexam.org. Please include your name, phone number, the day and time of your call, and the day/time of your scheduled appointment.

  • It is your responsibility to call the office during regular office hours to confirm that your appointment was canceled within the appropriate timeframe to ensure you are not charged.

Follow-Up Appointments:

  • We accept cash, checks, major credit cards, and PayPal payments for any follow-up appointments.

  • A 3.5% processing fee will be charged for credit card and PayPal payments.
